Dear Me: It’s Okay to Feel Tired
Sometimes, I wake up and I already feel tired. Not just sleepy tired, but tired in my heart. You know what I mean? Like my brain says, “Do your best today!” and my body says, “No, thanks.”
I used to think something was wrong with me. I’d look around and see people smiling, running, and getting so much done. And there I was — sitting, yawning, wondering if I could nap under my desk.
But guess what? Feeling tired doesn’t mean I’m weak. It means I’m human.
Tired Means You’ve Been Trying
We don’t get tired from doing nothing. We get tired from caring. From helping. From learning. From trying to do the right thing — even when it’s hard.
So if you feel tired today, maybe it’s because you’ve been doing more than you think.
Rest Is Not Quitting
One day, I felt so slow I could barely write a sentence. So I made tea. I read a silly comic. I lay down for a while. And when I came back, I felt a little better. Rest didn’t mean I gave up. It meant I recharged.
Even your phone needs to charge. Why wouldn’t you?
Talk Kindly to Yourself
Sometimes I tell myself things I’d never say to a friend. “You’re lazy.” “You’re not enough.” But now, I try to say things like, “You’re doing your best,” or, “It’s okay to pause.”
Being kind to myself helps me more than being mean ever did.
Final Thoughts
So here’s my little message to myself — and maybe to you, too:
Dear me, it’s okay to feel tired.
It doesn’t mean I’m broken.
It means I’ve been strong for a long time.
I can rest. I deserve to rest.
And tomorrow, I’ll rise again.
